Aims:

At the end of the training the participant will be able to:

  • Apply key epidemiological concepts to the clinical practice
  • Use new skills to diagnose tuberculosis (TB) infection and disease in adults and children
  • Use new skills to treat latent TB infected individuals and drug-susceptible TB cases (adults and children)
  • Understand the principles underlying treatment of multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB) cases
  • Draft a scientific article and look critically to published studies on TB
  • Identify the priority areas for research and draft research protocols
  • Build up networks of clinicians and scientists in TB care and research
  • Identify and use the principles of career advice, planning and developing networks
